Youth Symposium

2009 HISPANIC NATIONAL BAR ASSOCIATION’S YOUTH SYMPOSIUM (click here to download flyer)

The HNBA’s 2009 Youth Symposium will give Hispanic high school, college students, and community members the opportunity to learn about law school and legal careers in an intensive one-day program.  Students will attend sessions where they can learn about a variety of legal careers, and practical “how-to” steps towards college admission and law school.  The program includes an introduction to legal reasoning, a reenactment of a landmark case by distinguished Hispanic attorneys and judges, and even a panel of Hispanic law students and law professors who discuss the myths and realities of law school.  One component of the Youth Symposium program is the community track.  In this track, parents and community members can learn about their child’s chosen career path, and participate in an open dialogue with educators and professionals about education in New Mexico.
